Vermont-born singer/songwriter Zach Ummer offers a fresh and unique blend of rock, pop, and americana with a wide array of influences that include Ryan Adams, John Mayer, and Counting Crows. Ummer's lyrics and melodies are catchy and relatable to a vast group of audiences.
On his 2012 debut EP, Ummer, along with friends Kyle Pudenz, Kayleigh Moyer, and producer/engineer Zach Abend, stapled together a pop/folk sound reminiscent of early Nickel Creek. It was out of this project that the Zach Ummer Band was born.
During the years that followed, The Zach Ummer Band continued touring throughout the central and northeastern sections of the US. In early 2014 the Zach Ummer Band parted ways to pursue individual projects.
Throughout 2014-2015, Ummer began writing material for what would eventually become "These Open Wounds"; Ummer's second EP release (2016).
Funded by an IndieGoGo crowd-sourcing campaign, "These Open Wounds" was tracked almost completely to 2" audio tape, with the basic rhythm tracks being tracked completely live to capture the rawness of each song on the record.
Since then, Ummer has been touring off and on with various backing bands and writing new material for a 3rd release.
